Omaha is the largest city in the state of Nebraska and is the home of the University of Nebraska. It is also the birthplace of the sport of college football. The city is home to a variety of professional and semi-professional sports teams, but does not currently have a hockey team.
The Breslow Ice Hockey Arena houses the majority of the Cornhuskers’ home games. The Men’s and Women’s teams have locker rooms where players can store their equipment throughout the season.
The MACHA hockey team competes in the ACHA and is a competitive squad. Our home games are played at City Campus’ John Breslow Ice Hockey Center.
In Omaha, there are professional hockey and arena football in the winter, as well as hockey in the spring and summer.

In 2017, the team finished second in its division and was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Oklahoma City Dodgers. The Storm Chasers are currently in first place in their division and are playing in the playoffs. It is a pity that The Q, the Storm Chasers’ stadium, is not performing to the same level as other stadiums. The stadium is not suitable for the current fan base, and it will require significant renovation. The team is currently looking for a new home. The Omaha Storm Chasers are a minor-league baseball team based in Omaha, Neb., that belongs to the American Association. The Storm Chasers have had some success in recent years, most notably in 2016, when they won their division and advanced to the playoffs. Nonetheless, the team’s current stadium does not meet current standards and will need to be renovated. The city’s chances of forming its own team are limited if it is unwilling to spend money or find an investor willing to invest.

Omaha Lancers hockey is a minor professional ice hockey team in the Central Hockey League (CHL) that began play in the 2012–13 season. They are based in Omaha, Nebraska, and play their home games at the Ralston Arena. The Lancers are the second professional hockey team to play in Omaha, after the Omaha Knights of the American Hockey League (AHL) played there from 1968 to 1976.
Omaha’s Omaha Lancers are proud members of the USHL and its players. On November 18, 2021, the players announced they would boycott the team. Josh Mervis was appointed team operations manager after Gary Graham was named interim head coach following the boycott. On January 20, 2022, the organization announced the formation of a new ownership group led by Mike Picozzi. It has promised to make significant financial contributions to the team and to provide exceptional support. Furthermore, the players have been invited to meet with them to discuss their concerns. The Omaha Lancers are a member of the USHL, so it’s a shame they’re not treated as such.

Despite the fact that they are unsure whether the Omaha Lancers are a professional hockey team, Mike Picozzi’s ownership group appears to be committed to the team’s success. The Omahas are looking to improve their fortunes in the near future, with new ownership and a new head coach.
